Nitrogen Generation Package — Skid-Mounted, Pre-Assembled, Ready to Run
A nitrogen generation package is the complete on-site system, not just the generator. Compressor, air treatment, NITROBERG® PSA nitrogen generator and N₂ buffer arrive on a single skid — pre-assembled, pre-wired, pre-tested. The plug-and-play range covers NITROBERG® 500 to 1000, engineered by Berg GaseTech in Krefeld and delivered, commissioned and serviced from one source within the BERG Group.

One Source for Your Nitrogen Generation Package — The BERG Group
A nitrogen generation package combines everything you need to produce nitrogen on-site into a single skid: a screw air compressor, water separation, compressed-air buffer, multi-stage filtration, a refrigeration or adsorption dryer, the PSA nitrogen generator itself, an N₂ storage vessel, and pressure and purity regulation. Instead of sourcing thirteen components from different suppliers and engineering the interfaces between them, you receive one pre-assembled system that connects to your power supply and runs.
The system comes from a single group of companies. The NITROBERG® PSA nitrogen generator at the heart of the package is developed and manufactured by Berg GaseTech in Krefeld, Germany — the PSA technology specialist within the BERG Group. The full system is integrated, delivered, commissioned and serviced by Berg Kompressoren, the compressed-air and turnkey-solution specialist of the same group. One skid, one warranty, one point of contact — for engineering, spare parts and lifecycle support worldwide.

Without a package, every one of these components is a separate sourcing decision: a supplier, a specification, an interface and an integration step. With a Berg plug-and-play skid, the full chain arrives pre-piped, pre-wired and factory-tested on a common base frame — ready to connect and commission. The PSA mechanism that produces the nitrogen itself is described in detail on the PSA nitrogen generator page.
Why a Plug-and-Play Package
Fast Deployment
A Berg package arrives on a single base frame with piping, wiring and control logic already installed and factory-tested. On-site commissioning by Berg Kompressoren replaces months of in-house engineering with weeks of site preparation and start-up.
Single Skid Footprint
The complete system sits on one carbon-reinforced steel frame with aluminium floor plates and an integrated forklift slot. Instead of a component puzzle distributed across the plant room, you get a defined footprint, one electrical connection point and a clear hand-over interface.
Single Point of Contact
One order, one supplier, one warranty, one documentation set. There are no interface discussions between compressor, dryer, filter and generator vendors — the BERG Group covers the full stack from screw compressor through nitrogen outlet regulation.
Documentation Pack Delivered
Every package ships with assembly drawings, P&ID scheme, plant description, electric and electronic consumer list, operation and maintenance manual, spare and wearing parts list, wiring diagrams and material evidence. Utility managers and OEM integrators receive the engineering record on day one, not three months later.

Plug-and-Play Configurations — NITROBERG® 500 to 1000
Six pre-engineered plug-and-play configurations cover most on-site nitrogen requirements from laboratory-scale up to mid-volume industrial flows. Each configuration is built around a specific NITROBERG® model size with matching PUREBERG® filter line, DRYBERG® dryer and N₂ buffer vessel, and is sized for a typical application range. Larger volumes are handled as engineered container plants outside the plug-and-play range.
N₂NITROBERG® 500 Plug-and-Play Package

Why Berg
Berg GaseTech designs and manufactures PSA nitrogen and oxygen generators in Krefeld, Germany — for on-site gas generation that pays back in two to three years versus liquid-gas supply. As the PSA technology specialist within the BERG Group, Berg GaseTech engineers the NITROBERG® generator at the core of every package. System integration, on-site commissioning, operator training and service across most markets worldwide are delivered through the group’s sister company, Berg Kompressoren.
The combination matters for a plug-and-play package: the manufacturer of the generator and the integrator of the surrounding system belong to the same group, work from the same headquarters and share the same engineering record. There is no interface between vendor and integrator — both responsibilities sit inside the BERG Group. Standard filters keep the wear-parts market open to you after the purchase, and a service contract extends the standard three-year warranty to up to five years.
Frequently Asked Questions
A nitrogen generator is one component — the PSA unit that separates nitrogen from compressed air. A nitrogen generation package is the complete on-site system around that component: screw compressor, water separator, multi-stage filtration, refrigeration or adsorption dryer, the PSA generator itself, an N₂ buffer vessel and outlet pressure and purity regulation. The package arrives pre-assembled on a single skid; the generator on its own assumes that compressed air and treatment are already in place.
Not necessarily. A KOMPBERG® stationary screw compressor is available as part of every plug-and-play configuration, but it is optional. If your site already runs compressed air at the required flow and quality, the package can be delivered without the compressor and connects to your existing infrastructure. The package will still arrive on a single skid with the air treatment, dryer, generator, buffer and regulation integrated.
The plug-and-play skid is delivered pre-piped, pre-wired and factory-tested. On site, the package needs a power connection, a compressed-air supply (or its own compressor if ordered as part of the configuration) and a nitrogen take-off point. On-site commissioning is handled by Berg Kompressoren and typically takes a fraction of the time of a comparable engineered installation. [KUNDENDATEN: typical lead time and commissioning duration per model class to be confirmed by Berg before publication.]
The complete system sits on a single skid frame with an integrated forklift slot, so the unit can be moved and positioned with standard plant equipment. Site preparation is limited to a level industrial floor, an electrical connection at the central terminal point on the skid control panel and the nitrogen take-off piping to your point of use. No special foundation, climate-controlled enclosure or safety buffer zone is required for the package itself. [KUNDENDATEN: footprint in m² or L × W × H per model class to be added before publication.]
Every plug-and-play package is delivered with the complete engineering record: assembly layout drawing, P&I scheme, plant description, list of electric and electronic consumers, operation and maintenance manual, list of spare and wearing parts, wiring and terminal clamp diagrams, functions drawing and material evidence. Further documentation is available on request. All work, materials and equipment comply with applicable codes and standards in Germany — DIN, VDI/VDE, IEC, UVV — and optionally with ASME, ATEX, GL or BV after agreement.
Yes. The NITROBERG® generator at the heart of the package can be supplied under the OEM programme with customer branding, a customer-specific RAL colour, customer logo and manual, and customer software and HMI. Application-specific configuration of purity, flow, pressure and footprint is part of the engineering scope on every order, plug-and-play or otherwise.
