PSA Oxygen Plant — Skid-Mounted, Pre-Assembled, Ready to Run
A PSA oxygen plant is the complete on-site system, not just the generator. Compressor, air treatment, OXYBERG® PSA oxygen generator and O₂ buffer arrive on a single skid — pre-assembled, pre-wired, pre-tested. The plug-and-play range covers OXYBERG® 500 to 1000, engineered by Berg GaseTech in Krefeld and delivered, commissioned and serviced from one source within the BERG Group.

One Source for Your PSA Oxygen Plant — The BERG Group
A PSA oxygen plant combines everything you need to produce oxygen on-site into a single skid: a screw air compressor, water separation, compressed-air buffer, multi-stage filtration, an adsorption dryer, the PSA oxygen generator itself, an O₂ storage vessel, and pressure and purity regulation. Instead of sourcing thirteen components from different suppliers and engineering the interfaces between them, you receive one pre-assembled system that connects to your power supply and runs.
The system comes from a single group of companies. The OXYBERG® PSA oxygen generator at the heart of the plant is developed and manufactured by Berg GaseTech in Krefeld, Germany — the PSA technology specialist within the BERG Group. The full system is integrated, delivered, commissioned and serviced by Berg Kompressoren, the compressed-air and turnkey-solution specialist of the same group. One skid, one warranty, one point of contact — for engineering, spare parts and lifecycle support worldwide.

Click any component to see how it fits into the complete on-site oxygen system.

- Screw Air Compressor (optional: KOMPBERG®)
- Water Separator with Bekomat
- Compressed Air Tank (wet)
- Pre-Filter (PUREBERG®)
- DRYBERG® — Adsorption Dryer
- Fine Filter
- Super Fine Filter (PUREBERG®, oil-free)
- Activated Carbon Tower
- Dust Filter
- Compressed Air Tank (dry)
- OXYBERG® PSA Oxygen Generator — system core
- Oxygen Vessel
- Flow / Pressure Regulator + Oxygen Filter
Without a plant, every one of these components is a separate sourcing decision: a supplier, a specification, an interface and an integration step. With a Berg plug-and-play skid, the full chain arrives pre-piped, pre-wired and factory-tested on a common base frame — ready to connect and commission. The PSA mechanism that produces the oxygen itself is described in detail on the PSA oxygen generator page.
What a Plug-and-Play Oxygen Plant Delivers
Fast Deployment
A Berg plant arrives on a single base frame with piping, wiring and control logic already installed and factory-tested. On-site commissioning by Berg Kompressoren replaces in-house engineering effort with weeks of site preparation and start-up.
Single Skid Footprint
The complete system sits on one carbon-reinforced steel frame with aluminium floor plates and an integrated forklift slot. You get a defined footprint, one electrical connection point and a clear hand-over interface.
Single Point of Contact
One order, one supplier, one warranty, one documentation set for the full system — from screw compressor through oxygen outlet regulation. The BERG Group covers the entire stack.
Documentation Pack Delivered
Every plant ships with assembly drawings, R&I scheme, plant description, electric and electronic consumer list, operation and maintenance manual, spare and wearing parts list, wiring diagrams, terminal clamp diagrams, functions drawing and material evidence. The engineering record on day one.

Plug-and-Play Configurations — OXYBERG® 500 to 1000
Six pre-engineered plug-and-play configurations cover the standard on-site oxygen range. Each configuration is built around a specific OXYBERG® model size with matching PUREBERG® filter line, DRYBERG® adsorption dryer and O₂ buffer vessel. Larger volumes are handled as engineered container plants outside the plug-and-play range.

Why Berg
Berg GaseTech is the PSA oxygen plant manufacturer within the BERG Group, designing and producing OXYBERG® and NITROBERG® generators in Krefeld, Germany. As the PSA technology specialist of the group, Berg GaseTech engineers the OXYBERG® generator at the core of every plant. System integration, on-site commissioning, operator training and service across most markets worldwide are delivered through the group’s sister company, Berg Kompressoren.
What that translates into for the operator: a manufacturer and an integrator under one group, off-the-shelf wear parts available on the open market instead of proprietary lock-in, and a three-year standard warranty that can be extended up to five years with a service contract. When something needs engineering attention, the line goes to engineering — not to a call centre.
Frequently Asked Questions
The oxygen generator is the PSA separation stage that produces the oxygen — a single component. A PSA oxygen plant is the complete on-site system around it: an air compressor (optional), air treatment with filtration and an adsorption dryer, the OXYBERG® PSA oxygen generator itself, an O₂ storage vessel, and the flow and pressure regulation that delivers oxygen at your draw-off point. The plant arrives on a single skid, pre-piped, pre-wired and factory-tested.
An oxygen concentrator is a small, portable device designed for a single point of use — typically a few litres per minute, often for individual therapy. A PSA oxygen plant operates at industrial scale, delivers a continuous supply in the Nm³/h range, and integrates compressed-air generation, treatment and oxygen storage on one skid. Both rely on pressure swing adsorption with zeolite molecular sieves, but the dimensioning, dynamics and engineering scope are not comparable. A Berg plug-and-play plant is built for continuous industrial operation in aquaculture, biogas, wastewater treatment, metal processing and similar applications.
OXYBERG® plants deliver oxygen at 90 % to 95 % purity — the standard range for industrial PSA oxygen generation. OXYBERG® generators are designed in compliance with European Pharmacopoeia Monograph 0937 (Oxygen 93), the reference purity for PSA-derived oxygen in pharmaceutical processes. The purity is monitored continuously at the generator outlet by integrated purity and pressure sensors.
Not necessarily. Every plug-and-play configuration is offered with or without an integrated KOMPBERG® screw compressor — OXYBERG® 500 to 900 with a KOMPBERG® BSDK7, OXYBERG® 1000 with a KOMPBERG® BSDKF11/13. If you already operate suitable compressed-air infrastructure at 7 bar with the matching flow capacity and air quality, the plant can be delivered without the compressor and connected to your existing supply. Berg Kompressoren confirms the required compressed-air specification during configuration.
Because piping, wiring and control logic are installed and factory-tested before delivery, on-site work is reduced to placement, utility connections and a guided start-up by Berg Kompressoren. Site preparation typically runs in parallel with manufacturing, so total time from order to running plant is shorter than for a self-engineered system of comparable scope. The exact lead-time range depends on configuration size and shipping destination — your application engineer confirms it as part of the quote.
The standard documentation pack ships on the day of delivery and contains assembly layout drawings, R&I scheme, plant description, list of electric and electronic consumers, operation and maintenance manual, list of spare and wearing parts, wiring and terminal clamp diagrams, functions drawing and material evidence. Further documentation — for example application-specific commissioning protocols, additional language versions or customer-template engineering records — is available on request.
